Every year the Tour de France passes near Lourdes during the famous climbs of the Pyrenean passes.
Col du Tourmalet 2115 m
104 kilometer loop and positive elevation gain of 1956 m.
The most legendary pass in the Pyrenees, climbed many times by the Tour de France.
2 possible climbs:
- By Luz Saint Sauveur , 18.3 kilometers of climb at 7.7%, and a maximum gradient of 10.2%, the start of the pass is rolling and
- By Ste Marie de Campan, 17.1km average slope at 7.4% and maximum gradient of 10.5%
This is the emblematic pass of the Pyrenees, the mileage The D918 is quite well maintained and rolling, the scenery grandiose with a passage at the foot of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre.
Col de Tentes
Altitude 2,208 m, round trip from Lourdes of 126 km, positive elevation gain of 2,046 m.
Another great piece, less known and yet worth the detour, 30 km from Luz Saint Sauveur with an average gradient of 5% and a maximum gradient of 10.7%. The climb really begins in Gavarnie, 10 fairly tough kilometers, often with a headwind.
Crossing rocky landscapes very typical of the Gavarnie valley, the road runs along the Gave and offers a magnificent setting with the magnificent view of the Pont Napoleon
Cirque de Troumouse
Altitude 2,103 m, 122 km route from Lourdes, positive elevation gain of 1,950 m.
28 km of climbing from Luz Saint Sauveur with 5% climbing, passages at 12%, the road quality is very average, the landscapes extraordinary and the arrival in the cirque is worth the detour in itself, a beautiful outing and where you will have a good chance of seeing marmots.
Col d'Aubisque
Altitude 1709 m
Another Pyrenean monument that is shared between two departments, and that can be done by these two slopes:
- By Argeles Gazost via the Soulor pass, round trip 90km, positive elevation gain 1,589 m.
- By Laruns, loop 116 km, positive elevation gain of 1,958 m.

MTB at Pic du Jer
Pic du Jer has become a favorite place for downhillers in the Pyrenees. The site has hosted several UCI downhill world cup rounds
The Pic du Jer Bike Park is open from April to November and offers blue, red and black runs for downhill experts and thrill seekers.
Starting point: upper station of the Pic du Jer funicular
- The blue run: a fun downhill run of the "flow trail" type intended for experienced mountain bikers.
Gentle slope - Length: 4 km - Elevation gain: 450 m - Red trails: 3 km of trail with a negative elevation gain of 450 m
- Red Enduro: enduro route intended for experienced mountain bikers, allowing you to discover the reverse side of the Pic du Jer.
Length: 9.5 km - Elevation gain: 700 m - Elevation gain: 210 m - Black trails: DH Noire, technical downhill trail and committed, reserved for expert practitioners and competitors.
Steep slope - Length: 2km.
